The World’s Strangest Airports

Millions of people use airports every day. And let’s be honest, most folks don’t want to spend more time at the airport than they need to. Because why bother? They are all the same. When you’ve seen one, you’ve probably seen them all – right?
Not quite. While most of the airports are practically identical, there are some that would fascinate you with their unique qualities. Whether it’s because of size, physical location or building design, we’ve found 8 airports that are so wacky and bizarre that they require more than just a pass-through.

1. Denver International Airport
Denver International Airport, Denver, Colorado, USA, is the 15th busiest airport in the world by passenger volume (5th in the U.S.), and has been a topic of conspiracy talk since it opened. Rumor has it that it was built over some top secret underground base. Only the millions of prairie dogs that live in burrows around the airport know for sure! If you take a look at the runway shape, it looks curiously like a swastika (well, at least from above). There is also the strange artwork on the airport walls that have been described as disturbing and has come under much scrutiny.

2. Agatti Airport
This unique airport, located in India, is the only airport in the world that is completely surrounded by water. Its runway is only 4,000ft long and is considered to be short and dangerous. Odd maybe because you land and then have to take a boat to your final destination. Have a nice vacation!

3. Congonhas Airport
This one is Brazil’s second busiest airport and located just a few miles from the busy city center. It looks awfully like your landing in Central Park in New York, don’t you think? Because of the airport’s close proximity to the city, it’s a real challenge for pilots to land a flight.

4. Ice Runway

It’s not exactly an airport…This is more like an isolated runway, located in Antarctica. Ice Runway serves as a landing zone for planes that bring food and supplies to over 1,000 scientists who live and work at McMurdo Station. The planes are usually large and heavy. That’s why during the summer, when the ice is too thin to support them, the residents of the station are forced to go without fresh fruits and vegetables and other essential supplies.

5. Gibraltar International Airport
This one is totally crazy. We all know that a moving vehicle is not allowed near the airport runaway. But at Gibraltar Airport, vehicles pass over the busy runway on regular basis. Why? Because the main road that connects the peninsula and the mainland passes straight over the airport runway. In order for planes to land safely, the road must be shut down and blocked while the planes land.

6. Don Muang International
Don Muang International Airport in Thailand might seem quite ordinary at first sight, but once you take a closer look, you’ll notice that there is an 18 hole golf course in between the two runways. Crazy, huh?

7. Kansai International Airport
It’s not that easy to find a large open space to land in Japan. This is why the country spent $20 billion constructing the off-coast airport. This man-made island is so huge; it can be seen from space. It is built to withstand the devastating storms and earthquakes that are common in and around Japan.

8. Barra Airport
Location – Scotland (the Hebridean island of Barra, to be more specific). This airport is the wackiest indeed. Why? Because the landings must be made only when the tide is out. Yep, you’ve heard it right. The plane lands straight on the beach.

Countries Around the World Where Gambling is Huge

Thanks to the Hollywood film industry, whenever someone thinks about gambling or casinos there’s this instant image of Las Vegas that comes to mind. It’s fair then to assume that the United States are the nation that gambles the most worldwide, right? Wrong, even though it’s a huge country and there are quite a few casinos here, the US is not the leader of the list you are going to access down below. It doesn’t even get into Top 10. So, without further ado, let’s find out what are the countries that gamble the most. The classification was made by dividing the total losses on gambling for a period of 1 year to the entire adult population of a country. The losses include any form of gambling from slot machines, poker, sports betting, roulette any other gambling activity you may think of.

 The Big Surprise: Australia

Those of you that have know a thing or two about the gambling industry might not be as shocked about who takes first place in the list but we guarantee that this is a surprise for almost all of our readers. This comes from the fact that Australia doesn’t really strike you as a nation where gambling is so popular. Joking a bit, you might say that whenever you think of Australia you think kangaroos, koalas, rugby, the Sydney Opera and the great Outback. So, no matter if you’re looking for a land-based casino or an online casino, Australia has them all.

But the most interesting part is that most of the gambling isn’t done in casinos. Slot machines, or pokies as they call them, are so popular that every bar and even some restaurants has at least one. Studies show that an average of $1,128 per adult person were lost in Australia in 2016. The total gambling expenditure in this country is situated around the $23 billion. At a recent estimation, there were over 196000 slot games in Australia.

Singapore has witnessed one of the most-rapid growth in terms of gambling and losses on gambling in the world. After opening the first casino back in 2010, Singapore quickly became one of the largest gambling countries on the globe. Compared to this, Australia that has gambling around for over a century, are small-time players. In just 8 years, Singapore has managed to come second in the list with the world’s biggest gambling countries. Despite the measures taken by the government and even families through the ‘Family Exclusion Orders’ and many other mechanisms designed to keep people in Singapore away from casinos, the total losses per adult still stands at over $1,000.

We register a huge drop moving on to the third position of our top, where we find Ireland. Ok, perhaps this isn’t such a big surprise since it’s known that Irish people as well as the entire United Kingdom are predisposed go gambling and it’s kind of part of their culture. The cost per adult stands at over $590 which is half from what Australia registers year after year, but still a worrying amount. The Irish are known to be big fans of horse and greyhound races as well as the classic table games and, more recently, online slots. The Gambling Commission does everything in its power to prevent problem gaming through programs such as GameCare or GAMStop, however, the number of Irish people that are still drawn to the online and traditional casinos is still high with huge amounts being spent year after year.
So, if you’re planning on going on a gambling trip and you’re already tired of Las Vegas, or you just consider that destination to mainstream, you can just pick any of these countries and you’ll have plenty gambling products to choose from.

As surprising as it may sound, Greeks is another country that is greatly affected by gambling. An adult in this country loses $ 420 to bet on average. When it comes to gambling, the nations have something to boast about. The legendary gamble of all time, Nicholas, also known as Nick the Greek was from this country. The gambler died almost penniless at 83 in the year 1966 after losing all the winnings. If inflation rates are used to adjust his winnings, then it would worth approximately $500 million by the year 2009.

The Greeks’ most favorite way of gambling is lotteries, and in the year 2010, the joker lottery managed to collect a record jackpot of nineteen million Euros. It is no surprise that this nation also hosts the largest gambling company, OPAP, which boasts of a market cap of approximately 4.1 billion Euros. The privatization of the company was in its final stages by the year 2012. The sale of the company could help the government offset some of its debts.

Norway is not any different when it comes to gambling. It is approximated that an adult in this nation loses about $ 448 to gambling. The most popular modes of gambling in Norway include football bets, slot machines, scratch cards and also lotto. A survey that was conducted by the government in the year 2008 found out that 88% of Norway citizens are lifetime gamblers. Furthermore, the researchers discovered that young men who had previously played on gaming machines had a frequent occurrence of betting addiction.

The government has made attempts to limit access to gambling, a move that has seen the number of slot machines reduce from 22,700 in the year 2007 to 10,000. This is not a success in any way as the gambling was only transferred to online operations. The gamblers switched to playing poker online, and the government is now threatening to filter all the online gambling operations.

Surprisingly, even though the government is making efforts to reduce the number of gambling population, there exists a state-owned gambling company, Norsk that is under the control of the Ministry of Culture and church affairs. This makes me wonder if gambling is part of the culture or is it part of church affairs. All said and done; the company still posted revenue of $2.1 billion last year.

 Hong Kong

$503 is lost to gambling by every adult citizen of Hong Kong on average. If you sum up this figure with the total population of the country you can imagine what that amount of money can do when it comes to national development. Even though casinos are illegal in Hong Kong, the law does not apply to Macau which is just one-hour boat ride from Hong Kong. It, therefore, should not surprise you that in the year 2011, more than 500,000 citizens of Hong Kong paid a visit to Macau.  You must not know that not all forms of betting are illegal in the country as the government still recognizes some gambling forms that include soccer betting, lotteries, and horse racing.

Medical research has revealed something that I least expected. Can you believe that one out of every 20 citizens of Hong Kong have a gambling disorder? I did not know that gambling can become a disorder.  Within the country, there is a Jockey Club that organizes the major draws and also does cultural fixation. The club hosts 700 races in a single year. In the year 2010, it managed to earn $2.7 billion in betting and lottery revenue. Another study that was conducted by a Gamblers Counseling center found out that out of 1040 students, more than half of them were introduced to gambling by their parents and 41% of them stated betting at a tender age of six.

Gambling in Italy is not something that has a brief history. It is in this nation that the game of Baccarat was invented. That is not all as in the year 1638, Italy becomes the first country to have a government-sanctioned casino in the whole of Europe. The casino was named Ridotto. However, the casino was closed by the Venetian government in the year 1774 in attempt to preserve the city’s discipline and regulate behavior. Given the rich history of the country when it comes to gambling, it should not surprise you that on average, an adult loses $517 to betting in Italy.

Their favorite form of gambling is the use of electronic gaming machines which include slots. Just to emphasize how serious gambling is considered in Italy, electronic gemming generated 50% of the total gaming revenues within the first six months of the year 2010.within that period, gaming revenues totaled to $22 billion.

The Ministry of Social Affairs and Health in Finland reports that more than 41% of the adult population of the country takes part in gambling activities every week. Gambling is deeply rooted in the country such that even children took part in the menace before the government raises the minimum age for gambling from 15 years old to 18 years old in the year 2011. The change of age limit was done in effort to discourage gambling among children. Even though the government tries to discourage gambling in Finland, there still exists a government-run gambling company which is under the control of the Ministry of Education.

The revenue collected from the gambling company is channeled to arts, education and culture. At least there is a gambling company in Finland that care about the addiction that comes with gambling. The Paf group that runs online gambling company rewards its loyal customers who spend more than $171.40 on the gambling site and are proved to have gambling addiction. On a second thought, I don’t really believe that the company cares much about the addiction so long as they can continue making money. The reward may just encourage the gamblers to gamble more. on average, an adult in Finland loses $553 to gambling and that is money that you cannot possibly earn within a short period of time.

Time Traveler Warns of Future Earth

A time traveler spent two years into our future, he mentioned just how much our world will change. By the year 2749, both our population and landscape will be dramatically altered. How humanity lives will be quite different as well, by the comparison of today. The remaining survivors, will press onward surviving on an Earth which is unlike anything known from before.

The mans name is Al Bielek, a controversy surrounds his statements and even his background—as it is suspected that his identification has been forged for a reason. The question is, whether or not this was done intentionally. Is what he said actual truth or one elaborated story?

Al Bielek discussed what he remembered from spending six weeks in our distant future. He recalls the year, it was 2137. Later, he went further forward in time living in 2749 for several more years thereafter. What is now happening on Earth, is accurate to what Al Bielek mentioned.

Perhaps it is a sign of the times, as The New World Order prepares to takeover the rule of Earth. Climate change is happening and is real, recently in California—the Oroville Dam gave way as nearly 200,000 people had to evacuate their homes. Other devastating geological events have been happening around the world as well. Al Bielek was a part of the Montauk Project, this was a series of government funded projects conducted at “Camp Hero” also known as Montauk Air Force Station on Montauk located in Long Island, NY.

The purpose of this project, was to develop various warfare techniques and to conduct further research pertaining to time travel itself. Al remembers jumping off the U.S.S. Eldridge on August 13th of 1943. This moment is known as the Philadelphia Experiment. Al found himself along with his brother Duncan Cameron inside a hospital of sorts.

Both of the men were recovering from radiation injuries. They would spend six weeks here. The care they received consisted of a newfound medical technology using vibration and lighting of some sort. Television apparently still exists and what was being displayed on futuristic monitoring devices were programs mostly news and educational oriented. Many geographical changes started in the beginning of the 21st century until 2025.

The USA coastlines, along with the interior parts of both Europe and North America, were dramatically different than they are now. Water levels reached across some areas, covering major parts of Florida. Atlanta, Georgia was a mere 3 miles away from the Atlantic Ocean from this point. Al went on to explain that Mississippi became an inland waterway and the Great Lakes merged together into one large lake.

The United States infrastructure collapses in the future as both the United States and Canada were no longer considered nations any longer. Martial law was happening in the year 2137. A centralized form of government no longer existed either. The magnetic poles on Earth began to start shifting, however an artificial series of structures were set into place.

This prevents the collapse and reversal of the magnetic poles of Earth. As a result of this, the poles did not flip. The worlds population was reverted to 300 million people compared to 7.5 billion currently in 2017. In the United States, the population dipped towards 50 million.

Al Bielek also says that from the start of 1954 until the year 2000 our government worked alongside extraterrestrial entities as we acquired more technology into our hands. It is rather foolish to think we invented the internet randomly, without aliens pointing us into the right direction of new ways. Eventually, our reverse engineering of alien methods, progresses and digresses humanity.

Problems happen between 2003-2005 for humanity, as the New World Order began taking over our planet in secret to the mainstream. In our not so distant future, a war will wage between both the Russians and the Chinese—along with the rest of Europe and the United States. A number of cities will be destroyed in America. Eventually, the New World Order will collapse.

The future brings forth a new technology, which reduces the radiation damage from nuclear devices after only several days. We apparently have already tapped into this technology but governments refuse to use it for political reasons. World War 3 leaves a mess which needs cleaned up, for humans to survival.

Al continued to talk about what he learned from being in the future. He said he was taken back to the year 2137 to pickup his brother Duncan. From this moment they were both returned to the year 1983 from where they departed. Al continued to describe enormous ground based floating cities which simply hovered about the Earth’s surface. What is known as the Synthetic Intelligence Computer System would control everything.

A super computer program that removed even the need for governments to exist any longer. The structures were made from crystalline type materials. Telepathy is used to community as well and the structure of society is entirely socialistic. Basic human needs for survival such as food and drink are all taken care of for everyone. No longer will be starve and have to work so hard to exist. In some ways, this society is a utopia of sorts and a world unlike anything we live today.

Behind the scenes moments you didn’t see at the royal wedding

It’s official! Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are married! On May 19, 2018, the world watched with rapt attention as the royal couple tied the knot in an unforgettable ceremony at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle following a six-month engagement.

Markle stunned in her gorgeous Givenchy gown, paired with Queen Mary’s diamond bandeau tiara, while the prince looked handsome in his Blues and Royals frock-coat uniform. In front of their 600 guests, including celebs Oprah Winfrey, Serena Williams, and Amal and George Clooney, the newlyweds exchanged their vows and beautiful gold rings by Cleave and Company. Following their real-life fairy tale wedding, the newly married pair shared a first public kiss on the steps of the chapel, before taking a carriage ride to greet thousands of well-wishers who had gathered outside of the castle.

But that’s just what we all saw televised live during the ceremony. What about all of the action behind the scenes? Here’s what you didn’t see at the royal wedding.

Oprah Winfrey’s fashion fiasco

Oprah Winfrey nearly broke the No. 1 cardinal rule of wedding attire: unless you’re the bride, you must never wear white! As Winfrey’s bestie Gayle King revealed on CBS This Morning, the talk show host “had a little bit of a wedding emergency yesterday” when she realized the cream dress she’d planned on wearing to the ceremony was actually bright white. Oprah reportedly “whipped together” an alternate outfit at the last minute.

Not to be deterred by the fashion fiasco, the queen of all media was one of the first celebrity guests to arrive at Windsor Castle. She looked amazing in her new pink dress with lace trim, courtesy of designer Stella McCartney. Winfrey’s outfit was completed with a Gabriela Hearst purse and a wide-brimmed hat adorned with flowers and feathers and designed by Philip Treacy. While heading into the chapel, Winfrey appeared to be chatting it up with Idris Elba, who was accompanied by fiancée Sabrina Dhowre. Oh, to be a fly on the wall.

Meghan’s dad spoke out on her big day

Just days ahead of the royal wedding, Markle confirmed that her father, Thomas Markle, would not be attending the ceremony after undergoing heart surgery amid the media frenzy surrounding his staged paparazzi photos. “Sadly, my father will not be attending our wedding. I have always cared for my father and hope he can be given the space he needs to focus on his health,” the actress said in a statement.

Because Thomas was under doctor’s orders not to travel overseas until he was fully recovered, he watched his daughter tie the knot from home, much like the rest of the world. However, the proud dad was with his little girl in spirit. “My baby looks beautiful and she looks very happy,” the lighting director told TMZ just after the ceremony. Calling it an “emotional and joyful” experience, he added, “I wish I were there and I wish them all my love and happiness.”

This detail was overlooked in the wedding program

While the royal couple’s big day seemed to go off without a hitch, there was one slightly awkward error: the ceremony’s official program listed Markle’s father as the person set to walk her down the aisle, rather than Prince Charles. Kensington Palace clarified that the programs had already been printed before the last-minute change, stating, “The Order of Service was produced before it became clear that Mr. Thomas Markle would be unable to attend the wedding on medical advice…”

As Nicki Swift previously reported, Markle asked Prince Harry’s father to take her father’s place in the ceremony a day before the nuptials. “Prince Charles is very touched to be asked by Meghan to walk her down the aisle,” a source told Us Weekly at the time. “And he is very much looking forward to welcoming her into the family.” For his part, Thomas told TMZ that he was “honored and grateful” the prince could fill his shoes.

Honoring Princess Diana

The bride and groom honored Prince Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana, in special ways on their big day. According to E! News, the prince hand-picked a number of “delicate blooms” for his bride-to-be’s bouquet from their garden at Kensington Palace. In memory of his mom, who tragically died in a car crash in Paris in August 1997, the British royal included her favorite flower: forget-me-nots. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle also enlisted the help of floral designer Philippa Craddock, who created a special arrangement of flowers for the entrance of the chapel that included white garden roses, another favorite of Princess Diana’s.

The rest of the wedding ceremony included a number of tributes to the “People’s Princess.” According to Variety, the hymn sung at her funeral, “Guide Me, O Thy Great Redeemer,” was included in the service. Additionally, her good friend, Sir Elton John, and her siblings, Lady Sarah McCorquodale, Lady Jane Fellowes, and Earl Charles Spencer, were invited to the nuptials.

A sweet message from Meghan’s TV husband

The former Suits actress’ TV family couldn’t have been happier for her on her big day. While a number of Markle’s co-stars, including Rick Hoffman, Gina Torres, Sarah Rafferty, and Abigail Spencer, made the trip to England to attend the royal wedding, her TV husband, Patrick J. Adams, also showed his support with a sweet message on social media. “Going to bed now and thinking a lot about the strange surreal and wonderful day my friend Meghan is going to have tomorrow,” tweeted Adams, who also shared a pic from the cast’s “last supper” before the nuptials. “Meghan — wherever you are — we are so grateful to be here to watch you both take this monumental step together. Love deeply and live well. #RoyalWedding.”

Unfortunately, Markle’s TV dad, Wendell Pierce, wasn’t able to join the royal festivities. He told Entertainment Tonight that he was “irrationally happy” for the couple, adding, “[I] will be up in the morning with champagne, strawberries and cream, watching.” Sweetest cast ever.

Serena Williams’ wedding day prep

Serena Williams gave fans an inside look at what it’s like to prepare for a royal wedding by keeping a behind-the-scenes diary of herself and husband Alexis Ohanian on her Instagram Stories. “I’ve known [Meghan] for so many years and I’m so happy for her,” the tennis pro said in one of the many videos (and snapshots) she shared, which featured plenty of glam time and adorable appearances by their baby girl, Alexis Olympia Ohanian, Jr.

The power couple, who married in November 2017, showed off its wedding style at the chapel. Williams looked gorgeous in a long-sleeve, blush dress by Versace, complete with a matching hat and braided ponytail; Ohanian looked dapper in a black tux.

“I couldn’t be happier for her,” Williams told Good Morning America in April 2018, before sharing some sage advice with Markle (via E! News). “It’s so important to enjoy the moment. Eat the cake! I didn’t get to eat mine at the wedding. We were just having so much fun!”

Meghan’s OMG moment

Perhaps the most relatable moment of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s big day came at the end of the couple’s traditional carriage ride through the town of Windsor. As the newlyweds re-entered the gates of Windsor Castle following their beautiful processional, the excitement of what had just transpired in front of millions of people worldwide seemed to catch up to the duchess, who could be seen clutching her chest and saying, “Oh my god,” with a big smile to her new husband.

Markle wasn’t the only one overwhelmed by the life-changing day. During the ceremony, Prince Harry appeared to be moved to tears as his bride walked down the aisle. According to Us Weekly, fans on social media speculated that he told his bride-to-be, “You look amazing. Absolutely gorgeous. I’m so lucky,” as they met at the alter. How sweet is that?

Markle’s BFF had a ‘Pippa moment’

Markle’s best friend, Canadian fashion stylist Jessica Mulroney, became an internet sensation before the ceremony even began. According to Town & Country, the bride’s unofficial maid of honor wore a blue dress designed by Antoinette Di Carlo, which featured button details on its cap sleeves, along with “flawless tailoring.” Mulroney’s ensemble, complete with her half-up, half-down hairdo, was reminiscent of Pippa Middleton’s iconic maid of honor style — particularly from behind.

Middleton famously donned a white, fitted Alexander McQueen dress when her sister, Kate, married Prince William in 2011, and instantly became known for her pert posterior. According to the Daily Mail, Mulroney had a “Pippa moment” of her own as she guided young bridesmaids into St. George’s Chapel.

While Mulroney’s royal wedding look may have been a matter of coincidence, Page Six sources claimed it was a “calculated move to promote herself.” At a gala in Toronto a month prior to the wedding, on insider said Mulroney told a prominent photographer, “I’m going to give you some Pippa” and then “turned her back to offer a rear shot … that’s Jessica for you.”

The bride’s hairdo torments perfectionists everywhere

Markle’s hairdo had the internet abuzz during her wedding ceremony. Styled by Serge Normant, the duchess’ hair was left in a low bun. While the simple look was undoubtedly gorgeous, Markle’s usual face-framing layers eventually began to stray as the wedding continued, poking out from behind her ears and covering her forehead. And Twitter basically freaked out.

“Meghan Markle looks stunning in @givenchy but that one piece of unruly hair that’s separated from the rest is going to haunt me for life,” one person wrote. Another tweeted, “Meghan Markle’s hair is coming undone and I want to jump into the tv screen and fix it. I can’t focus on anything else.”

Meanwhile, another Twitter user offered the newest British royal a piece of advice, writing, “Meghan Markle we understand you are revolutionizing the messy bun here but your wedding day is not the time to allow a loose piece of hair #bobbypins.”

Did the royal couple forget to bow to the queen?

When the newly married pair walked up the aisle together after being pronounced husband and wife, royal wedding viewers immediately took to social media to share concerns over whether or not Prince Harry and Markle remembered to respectively bow and curtsy to Queen Elizabeth.

“Did Meghan not curtsy to the Queen or did I just miss it?!” one person wrote, while another tweeted, “Could someone please tell me why she did not curtsy to the Queen? Is this a new protocol? Because she is American? Because she forgot? What?”

Fear not! It turns out the newlyweds did not break royal protocol. According to Time, the perceived faux pas was simply a case of camerawork. When the royal couple paid its dutiful respects to the queen, the camera moved from a close-up to a wide shot, turning this age-old tradition into an easy-to-miss moment.

Prince Harry delivered a moving speech

The royal couple’s fairy tale wedding stirred up a number of mixed emotions. According to Entertainment Tonight, Prince Harry delivered a moving speech in honor of Princess Diana at a luncheon reception. The event, which was attended by 600 guests, was hosted by the queen at St. George’s Hall in Windsor Castle.

“Harry gave a tearful speech paying tribute to his own mother missing from the festivities,” a source told the publication. “He also thanked Meghan’s mother [Doria Ragland] for giving him permission to marry Meghan. He talked about how they made a great team.” He called his new mother-in-law “one in a million,” an insider told Us Weekly, and added that his bride “has handled things with grace and dignity. [He said] that he can’t wait for them to be a team.”

Both sources reported that whenever the Duke of Sussex referred to the duchess as his “wife,” their guests cheered.

Elton John serenaded the newlyweds

Sir Elton John is officially a royal wedding singer! In celebration of the duke and duchess’ nuptials, the music icon performed at their luncheon reception. According to an Entertainment Tonight source, the prince had asked if anyone could play piano during his speech, prompting John to volunteer. The “Candle in the Wind” singer entertained the crowd with renditions of “The Circle of Life,” “Tiny Dancer,” “Your Song,” and “I’m Still Standing.”

“It is no surprise that Elton has been included in Prince Harry’s wedding,” another insider told Entertainment Tonight. “As one of Diana’s closest confidantes, Elton is a connection to Harry’s mother and a very supportive friend.”

After performing at the coveted gig, John took to Twitter to celebrate the young couple’s matrimony with a Maya Angelou quote. “Love recognizes no barriers,” the post read. “It jumps hurdles, leaps fences, penetrates walls to arrive at its destination, full of hope.”

Something borrowed, something blue

Markle managed to turn her “something borrowed, something blue” into another touching tribute to Prince Harry’s late mother. As Kensington Palace confirmed to E! News, the bride sported a giant emerald-cut aquamarine ring to the evening reception — the same ring Princess Diana wore in October 1996.

Markle has worn Diana’s jewelry before. Her engagement ring, which was designed by Prince Harry, included two diamonds from his mother’s collection. The idea was “to make sure she’s with us on this crazy journey together,” Harry told the BBC after he proposed in November 2017.

During their joint engagement interview, Markle also acknowledged Diana’s memory, saying, “…obviously not being able to meet his mom it’s so important to me to — to know that she’s a part of this with us.”

Their wild after-party

After a full day of pomp and circumstance, the bride and groom were finally able to let loose at their evening reception. According to the Mirror, the newlyweds’ first dance was set to Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance with Somebody.” Afterward, actor Idris Elba reportedly deejayed as Prince William, Kate Middleton, and their closest celeb friends took to the dance floor.

The royal brothers’ pal, Charlie van Straubenzee, apparently roasted Prince Harry in a “hilarious and naughty speech,” a source told Entertainment Tonight. The insider added, “It left the crowd in stitches. William had warned Harry before the wedding that it was payback time.”

And the older royal wasn’t kidding. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex reportedly left their after-party around midnight, but not before the Duke of Cambridge played a prank on his younger brother. “Apparently Harry fell off a ladder recently while changing a light bulb for Meghan and hurt his arm,” a source told the Mirror. “So Will tied a ladder to the back of the car, which nearly floored a few people.”

Inspiring WOW

Abuse Survivor’s Reaction To Her Brand-New Smile Will Move You To Tears

Every once in awhile, a person performs a selfless act of generosity and kindness that gives everyone a new reason to smile.

Such was the case when a woman named Kyleigha went to Marshall Family Dentistry in Longview, Texas, to have a wisdom tooth extracted. Her dentist, Dr. Kenny Wilstead, took one look at her mouth and asked what had happened to her front tooth.

“Her front tooth was in shambles,” he stated on Facebook.

Kyleigha told the doctor that her tooth had been broken for the past two years after she’d suffered abuse at the hands of her ex-boyfriend.

Her ex had headbutted her in the face, breaking her front tooth to smithereens and rendering it, she thought, unfixable. She told Kenny that her last dentist had told her the tooth could not be fixed, so she had just resigned herself to living with it.

Kyleigha also couldn’t afford to pay a lot for expensive cosmetic dentistry, so she just assumed that a beautiful smile was out of reach forever.

“She said she was definitely going to have me fix all her teeth with tax returns,” Kenny said. But that wasn’t nearly good enough for this dentist, who saw an opportunity to help someone in need and seized it instantly.

“I said….’Hell no!! We’re gonna fix that tooth right now, no charge,’” Kenny wrote.

When Kenny finished working on Kyleigha’s tooth, he handed her a mirror and told her to take a look at her new smile. Her reaction was beautiful. As she looked in the mirror for the first time, tears filled her eyes and all she could manage was, “Thank you!”

Kenny says Kyleigha’s reaction is “a moment I will cherish forever.”

Isn’t it wonderful when someone can surprise another person who never expected any help? Excellent job, doc.

France, officially the French Republic, is a sovereign state comprising territory in western Europe and several overseas regions and territories. 5 Women Who Dumped Prince Harry Before He Found New Love

The news about Prince Harry’s engagement has gone viral on social media like wildfire. Everyone is talking about his fiancé and trying to figure out whether she is in fact the perfect match for him. And while there are some girls are saddened by the news that he’s taken, and they no longer have a chance to become his princess, most of the public is pretty happy for him. After all, Prince Harry’s romantic life has been all over the place. He definitely dated around, but not all of his romantic conquest were successful, some women actually turned him down, can you imagine? Let’s take a look at 7 women who either turned down his advances or dumped him after a couple of dates.

1. Caroline Flack

Caroline Flack is another TV presenter that Harry used to date. He really does have a taste for women on TV, doesn’t he? Anyway, Caroline and Harry dated after he and Chelsy broke up. Carolie was used to media attention and wasn’t exactly fazed by famous people, after all, she used to date Harry Styles from One Direction. But with time it became apparent that there’s media attention and paparazzi, and then there’s the crazy pressure of dating a Prince, which became unbearable and they broke up.

2. Natalie Pinkham

Natalie Pinkham had her 5 minutes of glory when British tabloid The Sun published a picture of her and Prince Harry on a night out in a club. It wasn’t a very serious relationship, but they used to date for a while. In the end it didn’t really work out, because Natalie was a television presenter and already had her share of media attention, adding a relationship with a royal wasn’t exactly a great idea.

3. Chelsy Davy

Chelsy was Prince Harry’s first and biggest love. They met when they were still kids, he used to call her the love of his life and hoped to marry her. They started dating in 2004 and were on and off until 2011. But while Harry was totally head over heels, Chelsy wasn’t so sure about becoming a part of the royal family. And after she witnessed the scrutiny that Kate Middleton had to go through she decided it’s not for her and dumped the Prince. Plus, Chelsy wasn’t the only one who had doubts about joining the royal family, the Queen wasn’t so sure about her either.

4. Mollie King

Mollie King is an English model and singer. She’s probably best known for being a part of the girl band The Saturdays. She and Prince Harry have been seen hanging out together in 2012, mostly in clubs and at various after parties, but they’ve never really been seen out and about together during the day. She later confessed that while she agreed to go on a couple of dates with Harry, she didn’t let it go to far, because dating a Prince was too much for her.

5. Florence Brudenell-Bruce

Florence became Harry’s first serious girlfriend after his breakup with Chelsy. And while this definitely wasn’t a fling, they only dated for one summer and eventually broke up. She actually married a multi millionaire Henry Edward Hugh St George a couple of years later, so dating Harry was really an image booster for her.

Hero Nanny Senses Something “Off” In House, Hears Noise Upstairs & Grabs Toddler

Early last month, Jenny Lee Baker– a nanny in Southern California– found herself in a horrifying and potentially dangerous situation. She’d been out running errands with the 3-year-old she cares for, and when she came home, something raised the proverbial hair on the back of her neck.

Her intuition was spot on.

As it turned out, a burglar had broken into the Irvine home and was busy upstairs, skulking through the house. Security camera footage showed him dumping the contents of a purse onto a kitchen countertop before Jenna walked through the door, then making his way room to room, searching for valuables.

“To have him going in to my kids’ rooms, it’s the most scary thing to me,” said the toddler’s father, Jonathan Lai.

When Jenna and the toddler came home, the intruder scrambled down the stairs. Meanwhile, Jenna scooped up the little boy and ran out the door, taking safety at a neighbor’s house.

“What she did for my son, (we’re) so grateful that she is in our lives,” Jonathan said.

The burglar still hasn’t been caught, but many are calling Jenna a hero for her actions that day. But she says she doesn’t “think of myself as a hero. I love him. When his parents are away, they put their trust in me to keep him safe.”
